Exhibition or display rooms in museums
This cycle, begun around the mid-1970s (one print was created in 2000), is dedicated to exhibition or display rooms in important museums. As early as 1958, a print on this theme with a woman sitting in front of Manet's "Olympia" was created in the Musée de l`Orangerie in Paris, which, according to Sovak's own statement, however, was forgotten again for the time being.
For the museum paintings of the 1970s, which he considers "portraiture" not of people but of images" (PS, 2016), he uses techniques of color etching, photogravure, drypoint, aquatint, and occasionally gouache.
