Portfolio "You go to Heidelberg too often"

Between 1980 and 1983 Sovak creates 5 sheets in the techniques of color etching, photogravure, aquatint, drypoint in an edition of 135 copies, based on 18 short stories by the German writer Heinrich Böll. Sovak is selected and commissioned for illustrations for Böll's book "Du fährst zu oft nach Heidelberg".

He visited the writer on March 14, 1978, on the occasion of a preliminary meeting for that book project and was allowed to photograph him several times during the evening with a Polaroid camera. Years later, these photos flow into an etching with 12 portraits of Böll.
